14 year old Tremaine McMillian

Miami-Dade Police says officers were forced to throw a beach-going 14-year-old to the ground and forcibly restrain him because of clenched fists and "dehumanizing stares," as first reported by CBS Miami.  Along with McMillan, his puppy was injured as well.  At juvenile court Tuesday, Tremaine McMillian's family argued, the teen was in the water nursing a puppy with a bottle, and that's when police overreacted.

McMillian entered a plea deal today. For the next two years he'll be on probation and must complete the Empowered Youth Program. He'll have to attend meetings two to three times a week at the Tacolcy Center in Liberty City; officials claim the program has a history of success in steering young boys away from further involvement in the criminal justice system.  Tremaine McMillian, Teen in "Dehumanizing Stares" Incident, Will Have All Charges Dropped
